Summary

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive。 And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits。 Worse, she can't seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it。

The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit。 But her temper isn't the only thing Cassian ignites。 The fire between them is undeniable, and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other。

Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms。 And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts。

Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance-and healing-in each other's arms。

I am crying in public having just finished this book。 I love Nesta with my whole heart, something I didn’t think I would ever say。

To be honest, I was never the biggest fan if this series, but I had loved Nesta。 I had always understood her anger and why she had treated everyone the way she did。 And though I loved both her and Cassian, I had low expectations for this book but I soon realized I had underestimated Sarah。 This book has to be favorite so far in the series。 This was a true tale of growth and love。 It was a wonderful ride to read of Nesta's journey to finding herself and finding a "court" of her own。 The writing w To be honest, I was never the biggest fan if this series, but I had loved Nesta。 I had always understood her anger and why she had treated everyone the way she did。 And though I loved both her and Cassian, I had low expectations for this book but I soon realized I had underestimated Sarah。 This book has to be favorite so far in the series。 This was a true tale of growth and love。 It was a wonderful ride to read of Nesta's journey to finding herself and finding a "court" of her own。 The writing was definitely a lot better than the previous books, allowing me truly see Nesta as she was and feel as she felt。 In this book, you catch a glimpse of the powerful woman Nesta is and I couldn't have asked for more。 With the introduction of new characters and the development of adored originals, this book is definitely worth every page。 。。。more

Are these books objectively overdramatic and poorly written? Yes。 Do I love them anyways? Also yes。

Listen, I capital L Love Sarah J Mass and all her work。 Truly。 And this is definitely one of her best ever。 Nesta’s story gutted me and hollowed me out and then built me back up right along with her。 The world of the Night Court and Prythian were so easy to slip back into from page one, and it was like coming home and seeing all your best friends again。 I could not put it down — hence the 2:30am review。 Maas’ work continues to get better and better, somehow, and I think her writing in the adult Listen, I capital L Love Sarah J Mass and all her work。 Truly。 And this is definitely one of her best ever。 Nesta’s story gutted me and hollowed me out and then built me back up right along with her。 The world of the Night Court and Prythian were so easy to slip back into from page one, and it was like coming home and seeing all your best friends again。 I could not put it down — hence the 2:30am review。 Maas’ work continues to get better and better, somehow, and I think her writing in the adult sphere has only been a plus side for her。 Not just smut wise (which is A+), but also in the way the characters are allowed to be darker, more foul mouthed at times, more。。。relatable, I guess would be the best word。 It was another layer of knowing them。 I hope there is a way for this world to continue on and on and on — I never want to say goodbye。 。。。more

“Like calls to like”。 Was it just me or did they repeat this phrase like 10 times? Anyways, here’s the good parts about ACOSF: The way it revolves around mental health and the how everyone is worthy of love。 The bad parts: Call me crazy, but I feel like some parts were just repeats of the first 3 books, simply replaced by Nesta。

I mean。。。。was I expecting to give it 5 stars? Yes。 Totally。 (even though this is more of a 4。5 stars than a full 5 stars)。I loved this book way more than I was expecting to。 I feel like everything that I had disliked about SJM's earlier books, especially ACOWAR (the excessive 'matey' romance, the excessive 'High Lore-High Lady' sappy drama, the happy endings for everyone) all the things that annoyed me - I feel were not a part of this book which is why i enjoyed it so much。 There wasn't a single I mean。。。。was I expecting to give it 5 stars? I thought the new characters and the new plotlines were great。 I absolutely loved Nesta and Cassian's arc, it was perfect but I'm also terrified that it will become sappy and boring in future books。 Things I didn't like too much: way too much Rhys and Feyre in the book, way too much smut - a little less of both could have made this perfect! 。。。more

*4。25 starsI went through this huge book in one and a half days, which means I must've been really sucked into this story。 I honestly thought that Nesta's change seemed a bit。。。 abrupt, but that's probably just me since this book is super long already。 Some parts of this book also felt preachy, like the last part of the book when everyone starts sharing their past and they're basically like, "We have gone through so much, you have gone through so much, BUT YOU ARE NEVER ALONE。" That got annoying *4。25 starsI went through this huge book in one and a half days, which means I must've been really sucked into this story。 I honestly thought that Nesta's change seemed a bit。。。 abrupt, but that's probably just me since this book is super long already。 Some parts of this book also felt preachy, like the last part of the book when everyone starts sharing their past and they're basically like, "We have gone through so much, you have gone through so much, BUT YOU ARE NEVER ALONE。" That got annoying to me。 There's a way to share these important values without making it sound like a motivational non-fiction book。 I did not like the Valkyrie side of it, too。 As far as I'm concerned, the only part that was Valkyrie to me was the fact that they were all female warriors。 But couldn't we give them a different name? Why must we bring Norse mythology into this?I know that sounded like a whole lot of bad, but this book is good, actually。 It just wasn't。。。 exceptional to me, but it's definitely a must-read for SJM fans。 Also, YAY FOR CASSIAN! 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 When I started this book it was out of pure love for all of the cassian and azriel content。 Nesta was a character who even before the cauldron just was so nasty to everyone。 I get pushing everyone away and feeling like you aren’t good enough but this seemed like genuine hatred。 That being said I loved watching Nesta grow as a character and actually seeing her motives and when she was mean in this book it wasn’t the same as before she felt more mature all while dealing with her trauma。 This is 4 When I started this book it was out of pure love for all of the cassian and azriel content。 Nesta was a character who even before the cauldron just was so nasty to everyone。 I get pushing everyone away and feeling like you aren’t good enough but this seemed like genuine hatred。 That being said I loved watching Nesta grow as a character and actually seeing her motives and when she was mean in this book it wasn’t the same as before she felt more mature all while dealing with her trauma。 This is 4 stars for me purely for the characters and seeing Nesta have her own found family and her with Cassian。 The ending was underwhelming and having Nesta lose her powers didn’t feel right, and Rhys finally being nice to Nesta because she saved feyre and his child didn’t sit right with me。 I loved Rhys in the other books but reading this one he definitely isn’t as high up as he was before, the way he is so overbearing and rude at times。 The moments in cassians head were amazing, I loved seeing things in his eyes and I can’t wait for an azriel book。 I’m so sad mor wasn’t in this book more and I just want her to be with a woman and be happy, like if we don’t get that next book I’m going to be so sad。 Overall I was happy to be with the characters again and if it wasn’t for them I would’ve given this a low rating。 。。。more

Ahhhhhh!!! Finally, finally, finally!!! I have waited so long for this book and it did not disappoint me at all。 There’s so much I could say I don’t know where to start。Nestas character development。 Oh My God! How she went from the angry, bitter, hurt girl in the beginning to a beautiful, strong, kind female。 I don’t think there’s any other character that can compare。I love her friendship with Gwyn and Emerie。 How she reached out to both of them and the bonds they formed。 And the three of them c Ahhhhhh!!! Valkieries all the way!!Okay okay but the most important duh, Cassian!! I put tabs on every page that had “spicy Nessian scenes” and there were a lot。 One of my coworkers asked me why I marked the pages when I was reading at work and I definitely wasn’t about to say hahahah! The growth in their relationship, how much they love each other。 “Sigh” so perfect。 Also uhhhh they totally make Rhys and Feyre look vanilla。。。。。And of course, Nyx。 I cannot wait to hear more about him as he grows up。 Also are we finally going to learn more about Eris and why he left Mor in the woods? I need to know。 Let’s also talk about Tamlin, as much as I hate him I do sort of still love him。 Love hate relationship let’s call it。 I wish there had been more Tamlin action in this book。 I feel like he deserves some happiness after all he’s been through。 I need a whole book of Azriel also and totally a theory but I think he and Gwyn might be mates。 They would be perfect for each other and he was the one who rescued her from the Hybern officers。。。。。。 hey what can I say。Oh wait I also want a Elain and Lucien book。 And a book about Mor。 I’ll probably be in my 30’s when SJM finishes these ACOTAR series。 Oh well gives me purpose right? So overall I think this book might just have taken the top spot on my all time favs list。 The amount of tears I cried, so many。 But they’re good tears, emotional and all that。 But yeah 10/10, 5 stars, amazing, and beautiful, and so so good!! 。。。more

It would take a long time for me to write all the things I hated about this book, so I will just share one。 Why, WHY did Nesta have such a hard time going down the stairs。 It is so much easier to go down stairs than up them, so why?? When she was regularly making it "about halfway down" why didn't she just go the rest of the way? It is so much easier to just keep going down another 5,000 steps than to turn around and go back up them。 Also, I believe at one point she made it down 6,000 AND STILL It would take a long time for me to write all the things I hated about this book, so I will just share one。 Why, WHY did Nesta have such a hard time going down the stairs。 It is so much easier to go down stairs than up them, so why?? I need to stop reading books that I know are going to make me cry。 Where to even begin。。。By far my favorite thing about this book were the female friendships that formed and the emphasis on how women can help each other heal from the traumatic experiences they’ve been through, how it isn’t weak to ask for help, but rather strong as hell。 How you are deserving of love no matter what。 Cassian and Nesta are really THAT couple。 They’re both so head strong, fiercely loyal, and can be dumb as hell whe I need to stop reading books that I know are going to make me cry。 Where to even begin。。。By far my favorite thing about this book were the female friendships that formed and the emphasis on how women can help each other heal from the traumatic experiences they’ve been through, how it isn’t weak to ask for help, but rather strong as hell。 How you are deserving of love no matter what。 Cassian and Nesta are really THAT couple。 They’re both so head strong, fiercely loyal, and can be dumb as hell when it comes to each other。 But damn did I enjoy every freaking moment of this book (and the ~spice~ ???? Unmatched)。 It was just one thing after the other, and even when a chapter was just about some mundane thing it felt fast paced。 THE LAST PART OF THE BOOK?!? INSANITY。 My heart was racing so fast, and then that’s also when I boo hoo cried for a good ten minutes。 SJM just never disappoints me。 Like so many of her other books you can really feel the heart and soul poured into these characters。 I’m probably going to be thinking about this book for who knows how long and not be able to pick up another one。 。。。more

I'm not sure if I can really put into words how much I loved this book and how much I enjoyed watching Nesta grow and heal into who she has become by the end of this book。 That alone was incredible and one of my favorite things to read。 A true story of redemption, found family, love, and inner healing。 I loved all the love in this book, platonic and romantic。 The true friendship Nesta made with Gwen and Emerie, the inspiration of them becoming warriors together? The love that burns between them is so sweet and so beautiful。 I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it to anyone who has read the previous books in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series。*Spoilery thoughts below*I'm so happy that Nessian are truly mates, like we suspected! I adored watching how patient Cassian was with Nesta, trying to give her space when she needed it, and to push her when she needed that to。 The support and love, just truly beautiful! I love that the girls became Valkeries and beat those Illyrian dicks! I was having so much anxiety when they were in that battle omg and when Cassian came in, saved her, then threatened her life in the next second? I WAS FLIPPING MY SHIT! And when he pretended to stab himself in the heart? O。O I was losing my mind! I don't even understand how that happened but it was incredible! And then Nesta saving Feyre and Nyx and Rhys? Mindblown。 I love that she thought to change herself to have a baby with Cassian someday 🥺🥰 Truly loved this book! I loved the House too! And the fact that Nesta is truly apart of the Inner Circle now, is apart of the family ❤️ Sarah is such an incredible author and I knew I would love Nesta by the end of this, and I do。 ❤️ So so good! 。。。more

NO, AND SHE WASN'T A B*TCH ABOUT IT。 Nesta isn't the only one that has struggled。 She is not a tortured hero, she is literally just mean and depressed。 I'm also a little upset about the plot in this one。Nothing happened。。。yet also things happened? It was really slow to start and then just breezed past some things I felt were pretty important。 I mean, they just lost a war。。。don't drag us into another so fast。 I have been waiting so long for this to come out (I literally had the release date in my calendar)。 I am just so upset。 This should have been a separate spin-off series so I wouldn't have to feel bad about not liking it。 Cassian is literally the reason this book got 3 stars from me。 He is a beautiful character and I was thrilled to see his story evolve。 5 stars for the sex though:) 。。。more
